Contemporary society is tipping the delicate balance between man and the natural environment. This can be observed in the residue of our commodity culture found within all aspects of the natural world. I am interested in highlighting the remains of plastic products found in our oceans, as this allows for the opening of new discussions on social and ecological stability. My work embraces the Post-Environmentalist trajectory of not limiting human action, but welcoming humanitys sustainable development.
It is of central importance to create art addressing socio-political measures, as it is our global commodity culture that significantly affects ecological harm. My work embodies an activist voice, but not through the typical, conventional, and didactically charged environmental slogans. Rather, I advocate for change through the poetic narrative in the form of humorous myth. It is this act of imaginative observation that is needed to allow society to reconsider the human and non-human world.
